Immunologist who built Canada's TIL therapy programme and defined T-cell tolerance mechanisms.
Pamela S. Ohashi is Director of the Tumour Immunotherapy Program and Co-Director of the Campbell Family Institute for Breast Cancer Research at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. She is an immunologist known for defining mechanisms of T-cell tolerance and for building Canada's tumour-infiltrating lymphocyte therapy programme. Her selected paper reports the ablation of tolerance and induction of diabetes by virus infection in viral antigen transgenic mice. She now runs TIL trials in melanoma and other solid tumours and studies T-cell activation thresholds.
