Maria Margarida Torres de Ornelas is Presidente do Conselho de Administração of the Instituto Português de Oncologia de Coimbra Francisco Gentil, E.P.E. (IPO Coimbra), a public oncology institute within Portugal's Serviço Nacional de Saúde. The institute announced in January 2024 that the executive directorate of the SNS had reappointed the sitting board for a new 2024 to 2026 mandate by order published in the Diário da República, with Luís Miguel Santos Filipe and Catarina Raquel Jorge Lopes Monteiro as executive members (vogais); the board page also lists a clinical director and a nursing director. The institute's website blocked automated access at the time of this check, so the announcement was read from an archived copy. She also represents IPO Coimbra in the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI), which lists the institute as a full member in Portugal.
