Kirsten Schmieder is Medical Director (Ärztliche Direktorin) and Chair of the Board of Universitätsklinikum Düsseldorf. A professor of neurosurgery, she previously chaired the neurosurgery department at Ruhr University Bochum. As Medical Director she leads the hospital's clinical enterprise, which includes the Center for Integrated Oncology (CIO) Düsseldorf, part of the CIO Aachen Bonn Cologne Düsseldorf consortium.
