François-Clément Bidard is Head of Medical Oncology at Institut Curie and Professor at UVSQ Paris-Saclay. His specialisms are breast cancer, circulating tumour DNA, endocrine therapy and circulating tumour cells, with a focus on the oestrogen receptor in HR-positive, HER2-negative disease. He led PADA-1, the first trial to switch endocrine therapy on a rising ESR1 mutation detected in blood, reported in Lancet Oncology as a switch to fulvestrant and palbociclib during aromatase inhibitor therapy. He also led EMERALD, the Journal of Clinical Oncology trial of elacestrant versus standard endocrine therapy in advanced breast cancer. He pioneered ctDNA-guided treatment switching, and his publications are listed on PubMed.
