Co-discovered EGFR mutations in lung cancer and pioneered circulating tumour cell technology.
Daniel A. Haber is Director of the Mass General Cancer Center at Massachusetts General Hospital and an HHMI Investigator. He is known for co-discovering the EGFR mutations that predict response to gefitinib in non-small-cell lung cancer, and for pioneering circulating tumour cell technology through the CTC-Chip. His selected papers report the activating EGFR mutations underlying gefitinib responsiveness in lung cancer, and the isolation of rare circulating tumour cells by microchip technology. He now directs the cancer centre and continues to work on liquid biopsy and circulating tumour cell biology.
