B. S. Ajaikumar founded HealthCare Global Enterprises in Bengaluru and grew it into a network of comprehensive cancer centres across India and Africa, bringing technologies such as robotic radiosurgery, hospital cyclotrons and molecular diagnostics into Indian private practice early. He remains executive chairman and a frequent commentator on the economics and organisation of cancer care in India.
