The General Anticancer Oncology Hospital of Athens 'Saint Savvas' is the largest specialised cancer hospital in Greece and a national referral centre for cancer. It provides surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiotherapy, haematology, nuclear medicine and palliative care, trains oncologists for the Greek health system, and participates in Hellenic Cooperative Oncology Group and European trials. It is the only Greek centre accredited by the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes, as a Cancer Centre.
