TPM3 (Tropomyosin alpha-3 chain) is a gene. The public catalogues list it as a fusion partner, and the evidence so far is association rather than a proven role. Tied to Lung cancer, Colorectal cancer and Non-small-cell lung cancer. This dossier gathers the 0 products (0 approved), 0 trials, 0 pathways and 0 resistance routes in the corpus that involve it, with external identifiers so it can be joined to UniProt, ChEMBL, Open Targets and the rest of biology.
Binds to actin filaments in muscle and non-muscle cells. Plays a central role, in association with the troponin complex, in the calcium dependent regulation of vertebrate striated muscle contraction. Smooth muscle contraction is regulated by interaction with caldesmon. In non-muscle cells is implicated in stabilising cytoskeleton actin filaments. Location: Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton (UniProt). Locus 1q21.3 (HGNC).
