TOX3 (TOX high mobility group box family member 3) is a protein that switches other genes on and off. In the public catalogues the evidence so far is association rather than a proven role. Tied to Breast cancer. This dossier gathers the 0 products (0 approved), 0 trials, 0 pathways and 0 resistance routes in the corpus that involve it, with external identifiers so it can be joined to UniProt, ChEMBL, Open Targets and the rest of biology.
Transcriptional coactivator of the p300/CBP-mediated transcription complex. Activates transactivation through cAMP response element (CRE) sites. Protects against cell death by inducing antiapoptotic and repressing pro-apoptotic transcripts. Stimulates transcription from the oestrogen-responsive or BCL-2 promoters. Required for depolarisation-induced transcription activation of the C-FOS promoter in neurons. Associates with chromatin to the oestrogen-responsive C3 promoter region. Location: Nucleus (UniProt). Locus 16q12.1 (HGNC).
