PPP6C (Serine/threonine-protein phosphatase 6 catalytic subunit) is an enzyme. The public catalogues list it as an oncogene driver and a tumour suppressor, and it is called a cancer driver by mutation analysis of patient cohorts. Tied to Skin cancer, Melanoma and Basal cell carcinoma. This dossier gathers the 0 products (0 approved), 0 trials, 0 pathways and 0 resistance routes in the corpus that involve it, with external identifiers so it can be joined to UniProt, ChEMBL, Open Targets and the rest of biology.
Catalytic subunit of protein phosphatase 6 (PP6). PP6 is a component of a signalling pathway regulating cell cycle progression in response to IL2 receptor stimulation. N-terminal domain restricts G1 to S phase progression in cancer cells, in part through control of cyclin D1. During mitosis, regulates spindle positioning. Down-regulates MAP3K7 kinase activation of the IL1 signalling pathway by dephosphorylation of MAP3K7. Also participates in the innate immune defense against viruses by desphosphorylating RIGI, an essential step that triggers RIGI-mediated signalling activation. Location: Mitochondrion; Cytoplasm (UniProt). Locus 9q33.3 (HGNC).
