NDRG1 (N-myc downstream regulated 1) is a gene. In the public catalogues the evidence so far is association rather than a proven role. Tied to Breast cancer, Lung cancer, Colorectal cancer and 1 more. This dossier gathers the 0 products (0 approved), 0 trials, 0 pathways and 0 resistance routes in the corpus that involve it, with external identifiers so it can be joined to UniProt, ChEMBL, Open Targets and the rest of biology.
Stress-responsive protein involved in hormone responses, cell growth, and differentiation. Acts as a tumour suppressor in many cell types. Necessary but not sufficient for p53/TP53-mediated caspase activation and apoptosis. Has a role in cell trafficking, notably of the Schwann cell, and is necessary for the maintenance and development of the peripheral nerve myelin sheath. Required for vesicular recycling of CDH1 and TF. May also function in lipid trafficking. Location: Cytoplasm, cytosol; Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, microtubule organizing center, centrosome; Nucleus; Cell membrane (UniProt). Locus 8q24.22 (HGNC).
