MPRIP (Myosin phosphatase Rho-interacting protein) is a gene. In the public catalogues the evidence so far is association rather than a proven role. Tied to Colorectal cancer and Renal cell carcinoma. This dossier gathers the 0 products (0 approved), 0 trials, 0 pathways and 0 resistance routes in the corpus that involve it, with external identifiers so it can be joined to UniProt, ChEMBL, Open Targets and the rest of biology.
Targets myosin phosphatase to the actin cytoskeleton. Required for the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton by RhoA and ROCK1. Depletion leads to an increased number of stress fibres in smooth muscle cells through stabilisation of actin fibres by phosphorylated myosin. Overexpression of MRIP as well as its F-actin-binding region leads to disassembly of stress fibres in neuronal cells. Location: Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton (UniProt). Locus 17p11.2 (HGNC).
