FGD5 (FYVE, RhoGEF and PH domain-containing protein 5) is a gene that drives cell growth when it is altered. The public catalogues list it as an oncogene driver, and it is called a cancer driver by mutation analysis of patient cohorts. Tied to Acute myeloid leukaemia. This dossier gathers the 0 products (0 approved), 0 trials, 0 pathways and 0 resistance routes in the corpus that involve it, with external identifiers so it can be joined to UniProt, ChEMBL, Open Targets and the rest of biology.
Activates CDC42, a member of the Ras-like family of Rho- and Rac proteins, by exchanging bound GDP for free GTP. Mediates VEGF-induced CDC42 activation. May regulate proangiogenic action of VEGF in vascular endothelial cells, including network formation, directional movement and proliferation. May play a role in regulating the actin cytoskeleton and cell shape. Location: Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton; Cell projection, ruffle membrane; Endoplasmic reticulum; Golgi apparatus (UniProt). Locus 3p25.1 (HGNC).
