Kissei is a Japanese pharmaceutical company from Matsumoto, founded in 1946, whose in-licensed haematology and oncology products go through the Japanese phase 3 trials it leads.
Kissei Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., headquartered in Matsumoto, Nagano, and listed in Tokyo, develops and markets prescription medicines in urology, nephrology and rare diseases, and in-licenses haematology and oncology products for the Japanese market, running the domestic phase 3 trials needed for approval. ClinicalTrials.gov lists Kissei as lead sponsor of phase 3 cancer trials. Its registered cancer trials are a phase 1/2 study of the anti-CD26 antibody YS110 in malignant pleural mesothelioma (NCT03177668) and a phase 1/2 study of dexrazoxane for anthracycline extravasation (NCT01596088).
Dexrazoxane protects the heart from the cumulative damage of doxorubicin in women with metastatic breast cancer who need to keep receiving it, and, as Totect, limits tissue destruction when an anthracycline leaks out of a vein.
