Diagnostics giant that makes the UroVysion bladder test, sells Freenome's blood test for bowel cancer, and is acquiring Exact Sciences.
Abbott Molecular's UroVysion (FDA 2001 and 2005) and Vysis FISH probes are long-standing oncology diagnostics. In 2025-26 Abbott moved decisively into cancer screening: it holds US commercial rights to Freenome's SimpleScreen CRC (approved July 2026) and agreed to acquire Exact Sciences (Cologuard, Oncotype DX) for about $21 billion.
A urine test that looks for chromosome changes in shed bladder cells, approved for people with blood in the urine and for follow-up after bladder cancer.
The second FDA-approved blood test for bowel cancer screening, from Freenome, sold by Abbott from late 2026.
