SDHB (Succinate dehydrogenase [ubiquinone] iron-sulfur subunit, mitochondrial) is an enzyme. The public catalogues list it as a drug target and a biomarker, and clinical evidence ties its variants to diagnosis, prognosis or drug response. Tied to Neuroendocrine tumours, Breast cancer and Gastrointestinal stromal tumour. This dossier gathers the 0 products (0 approved), 0 trials, 0 pathways and 0 resistance routes in the corpus that involve it, with external identifiers so it can be joined to UniProt, ChEMBL, Open Targets and the rest of biology.
Iron-sulfur protein (IP) subunit of the succinate dehydrogenase complex (mitochondrial respiratory chain complex II), responsible for transferring electrons from succinate to ubiquinone (coenzyme Q). SDH also oxidises malate to the non-canonical enol form of oxaloacetate, enol-oxaloacetate. Enol-oxaloacetate, which is a potent inhibitor of the succinate dehydrogenase activity, is further isomerised into keto-oxaloacetate. Location: Mitochondrion inner membrane (UniProt). Locus 1p36.13 (HGNC).
