HCAR3 (Hydroxycarboxylic acid receptor 3) is a gene that drives cell growth when it is altered. The public catalogues list it as an oncogene driver, and it is called a cancer driver by mutation analysis of patient cohorts. Tied to Acute myeloid leukaemia. This dossier gathers the 0 products (0 approved), 0 trials, 0 pathways and 0 resistance routes in the corpus that involve it, with external identifiers so it can be joined to UniProt, ChEMBL, Open Targets and the rest of biology.
G protein-coupled receptor for 3-hydroxyoctanoate, a fatty acid beta-oxidation intermediate. Signals through the inhibitory G(i)/o family of G proteins. Acts as a negative feedback regulator of adipocyte lipolysis, helping to counterbalance prolipolytic signals during physiological or pathological elevations in beta-oxidation. Acts as a low affinity receptor for nicotinic acid. This pharmacological effect requires nicotinic acid doses that are much higher than those provided by a normal diet. Location: Cell membrane (UniProt). Locus 12q24.31 (HGNC).
