CHD4 (ATP-dependent chromatin remodeler CHD4) is a protein that switches other genes on and off. The public catalogues list it as an oncogene driver and a tumour suppressor, and it is called a cancer driver by mutation analysis of patient cohorts. Tied to Endometrial cancer, Colorectal cancer, Renal cell carcinoma and 5 more. This dossier gathers the 0 products (0 approved), 0 trials, 0 pathways and 0 resistance routes in the corpus that involve it, with external identifiers so it can be joined to UniProt, ChEMBL, Open Targets and the rest of biology.
ATP-dependent chromatin-remodeling factor that binds and distorts nucleosomal DNA. Acts as a component of the histone deacetylase NuRD complex which participates in the remodeling of chromatin. Localises to acetylated damaged chromatin in a ZMYND8-dependent manner, to promote transcriptional repression and double-strand break repair by homologous recombination. Involved in neurogenesis. Location: Nucleus; Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, microtubule organizing center, centrosome (UniProt). Locus 12p13.31 (HGNC).
