Roy Larsen and Øyvind Bruland developed radium-223 there and founded Algeta, whose Xofigo became the first approved targeted alpha therapy after Bayer's acquisition, and the hospital also spun out Photocure and Ultimovacs. Current groups include Johanna Olweus on T-cell receptor therapies, Ragnhild Lothe on colorectal genomics, Ola Myklebost on sarcoma and Åslaug Helland, who leads the national IMPRESS-Norway precision medicine trial.
