## Summary

Zhi-Ming Shao is Professor of Breast Surgery and Director of the Department of Breast Surgery at Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center, the world's highest-volume breast cancer surgical unit. His group defined the Fudan classification of triple-negative breast cancer into four molecular subtypes using genomic profiling and RNA sequencing, and tested subtype-directed therapy in the FUTURE umbrella trial, which produced response rates far above conventional chemotherapy in refractory disease. His publications include the molecular subtyping and genomic profiling study that exposed precision therapy strategies in triple-negative breast cancer, and the FUTURE phase 2 umbrella trial in heavily pretreated metastatic disease. His interests are subtyping, precision oncology and umbrella trials.
