## TL;DR

Proposed cancer immunoediting and showed neoantigens are the targets of checkpoint immunotherapy.

## Summary

Robert D. Schreiber is the Andrew M. and Jane M. Bursky Distinguished Professor and Director of the Bursky Center for Human Immunology and Immunotherapy Programs at Siteman Cancer Center, Washington University. He is an immunologist who proposed the three-phase model of cancer immunoediting and showed that mutant neoantigens are the targets of checkpoint immunotherapy. His selected paper shows that checkpoint blockade cancer immunotherapy targets tumour-specific mutant antigens. He continues to work on neoantigens, interferon-gamma and the immune control of cancer.
