Mitchell Schnall is Group Co-Chair of the ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group and Chair of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania, within the Abramson Cancer Center. A radiologist and former ACRIN network chair specialising in breast MRI and imaging trials, he brought imaging research into the cooperative group and led multicentre trials of breast MRI and imaging biomarkers, including the TMIST tomosynthesis screening trial. His papers include the New England Journal of Medicine study of MRI evaluation of the contralateral breast in women with recently diagnosed breast cancer and a Radiology multicentre study of diagnostic architectural and dynamic features at breast MR imaging. His work spans MRI, mammography and tomosynthesis, and PET/CT.
