## TL;DR

Wrote the algorithms (MuTect, MutSig, ABSOLUTE) that most cancer genome studies use to find mutations.

## Summary

Gad Getz is Director of Cancer Genome Computational Analysis and an Institute Member at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. He is a computational biologist who wrote the algorithms MuTect, MutSig and ABSOLUTE that most cancer genome studies use to find mutations, and who led analysis for The Cancer Genome Atlas and PanCancer projects. His selected paper addresses mutational heterogeneity in cancer and the search for new cancer-associated genes. His group continues to define significantly mutated genes, mutational signatures and clonal architecture across cancers from whole-exome and whole-genome sequencing.
